No Sweat. Iron Sheik’s Ass Kicked by Warrior’s Mind.
On May 6, I made a rare appearance at a sports memorabilia/autograph show. Not only was the production first-class, so was the professionalism of the young gentleman, Mr. Bernie Gernay, who contacted, negotiated and worked with me to make the event happen. I can’t say enough about the mature, professional conduct of this young man and how his efforts squashed much of the built up skepticism and cynicism I’d acquired over the years while working with incompetent con-artists who rarely ever delivered on what they’d promised to do. His company, Pro Sports Investments, and he have a bright, successful future ahead of them and I am proud to have worked with him on this event and am positively looking forward to working with him in the future. I also want to thank his family, his wife Fran, his brother Dean, his sister Diana and her fiancé Brian for their hard work and making me feel welcome. There are other friends of Bernie’s who helped and I thank them, as well.
Of course, there’d been no reason for me to thank these people if there weren’t, first, the other people: the Ultimate Warrior fans. In YOUR case, it is not so much that I can’t say enough, it’s more that there are no words to describe the emotions I have when it comes to all of you. You were the best and you still are. One of the expressions I created many years ago still fits today: “Created by Destiny. Bonded by Belief.” How true it still is.
The Ultimate Warrior persona impacted all our lives in a positive and inspiring way and even as the years go by our affections for the experience and the bond that was built never fades away. Our lives are still powerfully influenced and our hearts are still warmed by the memories of Ultimate Warrior’s energy and determination and the statement he made. You drove hours from others cities, brought your own young children who were not yet even born when I was active in the business but have been turned onto Ultimate Warrior through the pictures, videos and stories you cherish, and you even flew from other countries to just smile, say hello, shake a hand, snap a few pictures, grab a couple of autographs. As many of you witnessed for yourself, you tugged at my heart until I was, often with moist eyes, wearing it on my sleeve.
Not just now as I write this but that whole day, there were several instances were there were not words to tell you how much it meant. I know you came to see me, but I need you ALL to know the honor of meeting you made an equal heartfelt and lasting impression. The only words to describe the fondness you shared is to tell you that you are the best — and you are better. You were better fans and you are better people. I will never forget what you meant to the success of the Ultimate Warrior and how much that experience we “lived” together still means to the living and learning I get to do in my everyday life. Thank you for being who you are. I know our paths are destined to cross again.

Being a man of good manners, I want to somewhat apologize for not being able to provide some kind of preliminary warning about the video clip, even better yet, some kind of password authorization for it to be played, but I don’t know how to set something like that up yet. I post the clip here only for the reason that I want what I have to say about the event to be understood in the proper context and that would be more difficult to achieve if the video has not been seen. It does contain “vulgar use” of adult language and it does bother me that young kids will potentially view it without proper adult supervision to explain why I’ve posted it here and what I have to say about it. If you have some type of parental control, please use it.
Let me assure you right now, as I move forward with posting audio and video clips of my OWN you will never find me using graphic adult language in the tactless, vulgar way the Iron Sheik does here.
The video clip, you would think, is pretty self-explanatory: there ARE former pro-wrestling talent who are “self-destructing,” but not yours truly. Unfortunately, this obvious conclusion is not the one many of today’s unmannered, mindless miscreants — spawned by today’s degenerate culture — arrive at. It seems that “self-explanatory” to these crackpots means not what you actually see and hear but what your hallucinations induce you to deliriously believe. When (supposedly) respected, online wrestling journalists watch the video and review the incident with comments such as, “Warrior can’t seem to prevent himself from self-destructing” and “Why is it that all these former pro-wrestlers can’t make their lives work outside the ring,” you know former pro-wrestlers aren’t the only ones abusing booze and dope.
If I wasn’t such an optimist and motivated individual, I tell you, I’d simply have to submit to the gloomy idea that civilization as we know it is reaching its end. I’ve self-destructed? I keep self-destructing? I can’t make my life work outside the ring? It’s simply unreal. You have to be an absolute moron to come to these conclusions after watching this video. Or either you have to a Warrior hater. A-HA!! There we have it. WHATEVER Warrior does, it is a failure, wrong, and self-destructive.
Regular visitors and correspondents to Warrior Web know I could give a rat’s ass what these morons think — or anybody else for that matter. I pay infinitesimal attention to any of it. I only mention the lunacy here because there are those of you who’ve been long-time fans and supporters, for all the truly positive and constructive reasons, who do take it somewhat personally when you read and hear this contemptible bullshit. Because it is in some way a lying, insulting mischaracterization of you, as well. My advice is, if you are ever fortunate to cross paths with the pleasant opportunity, throw your punch targeting the back of the head not the face; this way you’ll insure follow-through and do much more exciting, colorful damage. Although, don’t get your hopes up that you will ever get the chance. Cockroaches run and hide when the lights come on. In the meantime, take comfort in a traditional truism as I long have: The greatness of a man’s character is best judged not by the number of friends he has but by the number of his enemies.
What you see on the video beyond Sheik’s obvious and maniacal self-destruction — not anything new to him but kept secret by his fawning, fearful industry marks — is one of my long-expressed principles of life in action: “There’s nothing so embarrassing or intimidating as another human being who can kick your ass with their mind.” For the last ten years at Warrior Web I’ve been telling you about it and, more, telling you who I am. I don’t know why so many are still always surprised when I bring into action what I’ve long put into words. My reaction to Sheik’s confrontation parallels perfectly the principled, classy, and classical, behavior standards I’ve held myself to for years. If anyone has any evidence otherwise, send it to me and I’ll post it.
I’m not a two-faced hypocrite. I am a principled man and I don’t swap out my principles to just make nice. I told Bernie upfront, once I found out Hogan was going to be there the same day and time, if Hogan or his handlers or even the Triumph Sports promoters (organizers for the whole event) had some covert idea to attempt an impromptu photo-op they best reconsider it unless they wanted Hogan to end up with similar ass-kicked-by-mind all over his face. I did not know Sheik was going to be there or that he would attempt to come up and shake my hand. Doesn’t matter, my reaction in these instances is automatic. You lyingly smear me, I let you know I don’t appreciate it and I don’t befriend you. Period. All these former wrestlers have gone wildly out of their way to disparage, ridicule and mischaracterize me — and done so like there would be no damaging effect on my reputation or the livelihood of my own family. It’s not a joke to me and I’m not going to diffidently treat it like one. You will never see me shake the hand of any of them that I know have done it — not Hulk, not Bret Hart, not Steve Borden, not Goldberg, not Dibiase, not Ross, not Heenan, not any of the McMahons…never.
As I told Vince McMahon, the day our litigation trial was to begin (after four years of his lawyers mischaracterizing me and insulting my personal integrity), when he came over nonchalantly and called me “pal” and went to shake my hand and I refused, “I’ve been insulted enough. I’m not going to be insulted anymore.”
My life means something valuable to me. My self-respect, character and integrity is not for sale. Neither is my handshake. It’s the simplest gesture and, yet, the greatest statement I can make. When I give it, or not, it stands for something. I do not compromise the worth of myself, my family, my word or my handshake to make nice or make others feel comfortable. No way. No how. Never. And that, I’ve come to learn, is more devastating to the ego of another man than punching him out.
Look, I’m not the one cutting promos out all sides of my ass. I also never said one critical word about any of the former talent I worked with until they started ripping my career apart and making up lies about who I really am as a human being; mind you, for no objective reason whatsoever other than they are jealous that I got out of the industry with my integrity and balls. Their envy and their regrets were never my problem until they made them so. When they did, I shot back. Neither am appearing at autograph sessions for $50 and all the hot dogs and beer I can eat and drink, all the while parading around a rapidly-decomposing, dope-ravaged mind and body wrapped in the same worn-out clothes I wore 20 years ago. Others are.
As for the ridiculous speculation over why I didn’t “throw down” with Sheik or who would have bested who if that would have happened, ple-e-ease, I can’t handle the loopy nonsense anymore. For all of you tough-guy, ringside fight experts, who’d truthfully never find yourselves within ten yards of a real fight, let me tell you this. If you ever shockingly find your sorry ass standing face-to-face ready to get into a scrap with a wrestler, amateur or pro and even the queer, worthless ones, you better be prepared to fight, not just hug him until bystanders step in and break it up to save your ass. Win or lose, ALL wrestlers love to fight — they thrive off it — they enjoy it. NO Wrestler is the least bit intimated by the blood, pains or injuries that come along with a good slobber-knocker. These are the welcome “rewards” that break up the road travel monotony and make a wrestler meaner, more determined and, oddly, more relaxed. Besides, to real men, pain and challenge are pleasure.
If the Sheik or anyone else has a real problem with me, then be brave enough to step out from behind your two-faced hypocrisy, step up, voice your beef like a man and take your best swat and let the fun begin. But please, just shut the fuck up telling me through your computers, online wrestling interviews, idiotic youtube shoot interviews, and shameful public outbursts how tough you are, how much of a queer you claim I am, how much you despise the disrespect I’ve shown to your so highly respectable industry, how worthless Ultimate Warrior was to the business….blah, blah, blah. If you want to fight, quit cutting promos and grab your best hold.
Like all the other gluttonous, rotting, smelly, out-of-shape former talent who always have endless amounts of hot air to cut promos but get winded simply taking their morning crap, Sheik didn’t want to fight with anyone or anything other than his own demons of self-pity, all right there in an humiliating public display. Jeez, if kicking my ass would inspire some of you guys to pick up the pieces of your broken down lives, I tell you what, I’ll even let you win. Just quit embarrassing yourselves.
Was I intimidated? Did I feel threatened? It’s kind of hard to be intimidated (or hold back your laughter) by a guy who couldn’t even stun the clownish tub of lard who brought him over. Let me put it this way. In the words of Hawk (the real Road Warrior), after taking a damn good shot right smack center of his face one fracas-filled evening in the boondocks of Canada (mostly faggots up there anyway): “You, sir, punch like a pussy.” Christ, my 6 year-old daughter, Indy, throws a harder slap than Sheik.
Nonetheless, we all got to see how great Sheik and others like him have gotten at self-destructively kicking their own asses; their lives are absolute pathetic wrecks. They don’t get respect from respectable people because they don’t even have any for themselves. Most of them are pigs and drunks and burnouts or, worse, hypocrite born-again Christians. They sit in their own pile of self-pity poop and squander their lives and then cry foul when they get the results that perfectly mirror the efforts they have not made. Sheik’s act has aged as decrepitly as he has. He’s a bum.
I instructed others to get security because it was the mature, responsible, professional thing to do. I stayed exactly where I originally was when Sheik approached me, never dropped my autograph pen and went right back to signing for the fans I enjoyed spending time with. I was not hired to indulge or babysit a broken-down, bitter, unmannered and unmanly, morally-bankrupt, demented and dirty old man. Physically engaging him would have only ruined the whole day for a lot of really good, polite and friendly people. THAT would have been self-destructive. Again, as has long been my custom to do, I make no apologies about disappointing those of you who keep enviously and hatefully expecting as much. I win. You lose. And, I promise, you will every time.

Your fans are proud to be your fans because you hold yourself up to the same standards that you hold others up to. You expect no less because you give no less. Dear Warrior;
I have become an avid wrestleing fan over the past 2-3 years. One thing i have noticed between watching Raw, and Smackdown now, and past clips online is that you dont see many new things. Wrestlers today do alot of things they your generation did in their era. Like Batista shakes the ropes to tell that the end is near like you used to.
My question is what do you think of this? Do you think that , They should come up with their own trademark things like you had to. Or is it ok and they can do what ever works for them.

As a 9 year old kid waiting for you to show up at the pNE coliseum in vancouver december 9 1989 to fight Andre The Giant and you NEVER did show up(I’m still waiting) that was my 1st wrestling card I ever went too,I did get to see you fight,Rick Rude,Sgt slaughter and The Undertaker though!!! Hopefully one day i will get to meet you in person as i was always a fan of yours as a child. I just pretty much wanted to say your a very professional and classy human being as i don’t follow rumors that circulate like others online. I can respect the fact that you were the bigger man and didnt need to act tough as you can stay calm and just ignore and do what you came there to do hang with all the warrior fans. I was fortunate enough to be one of lucky Warrior fans that met you that day at the show. I won’t lie but I did go to the signing with a little doubt in my mind of the outcome of signing. I guess it can be blamed on the internet but I’m the type of fan that gives everyone the benefit of the doubt. After meeting you I must say that I was really impressed with the way you presented yourself, very punctual and very fan friendly. Usually most signings I’ve attended you get maybe 10 seconds to say what you have to say to the celebrity, snap a pic then its over. But it was cool to see that you were very one on one with all of fans and allowed them to say what they’ve always wanted to say. I also witnessed the Iron Shiek meltdown and I wasn’t surprised when you just stood there and watched him make an ass of himself. I actually turned to my friend and said ” and whos the one who self-destructed?”. When people asked me how you were in person I simply said DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE. It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope to meet you again someday. And as a wrestling fan I can go to sleep at night knowing that I got something that some people in the industry didn’t… a handshake from the Ultimate Warrior

I’ll never believe what any of the stupid assholes on the internet say about you and I can see from watching this video that you were the real man in that situation while the Sheik made an ass out of himself and just looked like a crazy, unbalanced stupid little prick. If there had been a real fight, you would have crushed his skull and ripped him apart. So basically, you did him a favor by not getting into it physically with him, like some others would have done. However, you DID kick his ass with your mind, which I believe did more damage to him than a punch to the face would (although I must say he deserved a punch right to his ugly, dirty little shit face for what he’s said about you in the past as well as the ridiculous behavior he displayed at the event). You did the right thing and anyone who doesn’t have their head up their ass would agree.
You set a good example which hopefully others will use in the future.

Sheik is a braindead, drug fuelled old fool who seems like the years of self abuse have taken a huge toll mentally and physically. The man spends his time indulging in drug and booze binges and then attends public autograph appearances and makes an ass of himself.
This isnt the first time he has acted this way. He stormed through a mall full of children a couple of years ago, swearing and cursing as he went because something had triggered in his insane mind and sent him around the bend. He was brought in to an independant show a couple of years ago also, and got so high that he locked himself in his car convinced that the people who brought him in had done so with the intent to murder him. He IS that screwed up, it might be funny if it wasnt so utterly pathetic.
Sheik is a guy with no morals, no principles and no sense of reality. Here is a guy who has, on many an occasion, said how he wants to kill Hulk Hogan, yet at the 2005 Hall of Fame, he was kissing up to him and shaking his hand like he wanted to make babies with the guy. Hogan shook his hand, as his did Billy Graham who tried to bury him. Says something about Hogan that sadly he is willing to put his principles aside. Warrior didnt, I respect him for that.
As for those who I’ve read online have said “Warrior is chicken, he didnt do anything!” and things or that nature, really what do you guys expect him to do? Jump the desk, throw a clothesline and deck the Sheik? Please guys, lets be real here: This was a professionally organised event and Warrior was there as a professional, which is what he acted like. A grown up, MATURE, professional adult. It seems that regardless of what he does, Warrior is damned if he does and damned if he doesnt by alot of you people. Its a shame, although I dont expect him to dwell on it or care.

I was hoping Warrior would open up a forum to discuss this incident. First of all if Sheik really wanted a piece of the Warrior he would have walked around the table and confronted Warrior man to man and faced him eye to eye; But he did not and left the table as a barrier between him and Warrior. Secondly, in the field of psychology there is a term called projection in which you project your issue(s) onto others. In his crazy shoot interviews, Sheik constantly refers to others he does not like as “gay faggots” and his solution is to “humble them” by sodomizing them. Now tell me who has the problem with his sexual orientation. Sheik does these shoots on other wrestlers because he has nothing postive to contribute or offer so he feels the negative attetntion he gets from his videos is better then no attention at all. It is very sad and he strikes me as an obviously mentally unstable and tormented individual. I felt bad for the younger children at the event who had to hear Sheik’s foul language. Warrior showed calm composure and restraint and chose not to lower himself to Sheik’s level. His non-reactivitly was a positive role model for those in attendance while he brilliantly allowed Sheik to unravel and demonstate his character or rather the lack of character. Warrior’s decision not to shake Sheik’s hand was a sign of integrity in light of the negative comments Sheik has made about the Warrior in the past. Not shaking his hand caused a major narcissistic injury to Sheik’s ego which he obviously could not handle and revealed his deep insecurity in himself as a human being.

I remember seeing warrior at summerslam 1992 at wembley stadium in london..the capacity was about 80,000 people and when warrior ran through the doors into the ring the wcrowd were screaming..everyone was stood up cheering the warrior..! the warrior brought so many happy moments to my childhood, forget spider man, forget batman..the only superhero is warrior!!!

Warrior provided two of my all-time favorite moments as a wrestling fan. His IC title win was so inspirational and I personally loved to see Hogan do a clean job at Wrestlemania VI.
After reading Warrior’s response to the “Iron Sheik Incident”, I’m a fan again. Excellent, worthwhile read and proof that the pen is still mightier than the sword. Thank you. I really enjoyed it.

We have heard two sepreate wrestling promoters talk down about Warrior as goes for countless wrestlers. Are they all wrong. I always thought Vince McMahon was the most hated man in wrestling (but still gets credit where credit is due). However Warrior is not a very well liked man amoungst his former co-workers and maybe now he deserves that title. Warrior takes full credit for everything he has ever done, and will not give back to the promoter, company, or any of the wrestlers who helped make his what he is today. It’s a shame because the Ultimate Warrior was a great character and would still be in today’s WWE. However the times have changed and unless Warrior finds away to put the past behind him and better himself today than, without wrestling Warrior is a forgotten man.

It’s a shame how the Sheik bursted like that. I totally agree with the Warrior. I wouldn’t shake someone’s hand who has been blasting me. I’ve seen Sheik’s video on Brian Blair, how he talks about “humbling” him. While the Warrior has moved on to public speaking, and Brian Blair has moved on to county commissioner in Tampa FL, the Sheik has to resort to blasting other wrestlers and playing bingo halls to get a “cheap pop”. While I respect Warrior’s integrity and sportsmanship by not blasting the Sheik, I would of loved to see this movie showing the Warrior kicking Sheik’s ass from beginning to end.

I was also there and what fails to be mentioned is the fact that you refused to shake the Sheiks hand when he offered, thats why he got angry. First I would like to say hi to the Warrior and his faithful as this is my first post to the website. Having said Hi I would like express a personal problem with the above comment by Warrior. My problem is that I’m a Canadian. In the above commentary Mr. Warrior disparaged the people of Canada by suggesting that most of the population of this great country are “faggots”. In response to his comments I would personally like to extend a “Fuck You!” to Jim Helwig. I don’t doubt that the story about Hawk taking a punch was the truth, what I have issue with is a prima-donna such as yourself being so racist in your opinions. From watching the video, it is plain and clear to see that the former Dubbya Dubbya Eeee Champion, Iron Sheik, was obviously provoked. These actions were instigated by Warrior as he um…ah, stood there being polite, respectful and as a decent human being who was signing autographs.
It is well documented that Sheik has had a long history with alcohol abuse. Michael Hayes, Jim Ross, Mike Graham, and Jerry Lawler made light of it for all to see on WWE 24/7 when they did a legends story on him.
I guess everyone now knows who really went off the deep end…and his name is not Warrior.

Hello Warrior, Remember Me? David from Rhode Island, met you online, with some Ebay Ventures, and at the show in NYC a few years back. Its unfortunate to see someone like Sheik act like that. I tend to agree with you on all of your points. The Business is designed for workers to make money. You had the industry by a stranglehold for years, and Its very clear many workers from back in the days have a quite a bit of antimosity and jealousy over it. It saddens to me to see someone like the Sheik (Someone I consider a Legend) act in a manner such as he did. It seems like a desperate attempt for some limelight…and unfortunately, he got that. Wheres the Ultimate Warrior / Iron Sheik debate? - where you really mentally butcher the fool. I find it funny the issues some of the business has with the Warrior, he wasnt the only over the top act of the 90’s, he was just the Most Sucessful one. He got more out of an Entrance than most workers can get out of the crowd throughout there entire match. I Will be a Fan forever after meeting the man, great guy.
And for those of you reading, Warrior is one of the most stand up, and professional workers I could have ever asked to meet….And My List isnt short, Ive met many (Bret Hart - Asshole, Kevin Nash - Asshole, Sean Waltman - Asshole) The only workers I met where I felt as they truly appreciated meeting there fans were Warrior, and Flair, maybe after old age, they figure out to appreicate the people that made them. Not only did he take the time to chat without rushing his fans away, he took the time to listen to what you were saying, even if you were too excited to actually think of the questions you had thought about asking all the night before. So If you ever get a chance, definately take the time to meet the Warrior….and when you leave, you wont even care about the Autograph you recieved, because a Conversation is always worth much, much more to the True Fans.

Warrior, it was obvious that Shiek was in the wrong and acting the crazy fool wrestling fans have come to know him by, as evidenced by his multiple commentaries throughout the internet. However, you continue to feel the need to write and address everything that was said about you to justify your actions to some meatheads on the internet, using words and rhetoric that few people want to read because it’s long winded, boring, and ultimately can easily be summed up in a few words. Your comment about Canada shows a lapse in judgment and I doubt reflects your views of the country as a whole. I am sure that comment probably comes from bent up aggression towards Pat Patterson(among others). However, I assure you he is the minority here.
As for this situation; I can not commend you enough. Your ‘in the moment’ response was perfect and showed great restraint. This message continues that show of class. Your thoughts on ‘giving away a handshake’ and not giving it hurting more then a punch in the face……..it has left me thinking to say the least. Which is how I feel about a lot of your stuff. I read about how you claim that you’re so kind and giving and respectful to your fellow man, yet, aren’t you the one who caused a near riot at Harvard for calling homosexuals the problem for society’s issues? I enjoyed watching you in the ring and I enjoy your journal entries today. You are intelligent and articulate which is pretty rare for most professional wrestlers. The one thing that irks me is that you seem a bit hypocritical at times. On one hand you apologize for Sheik’s vulgarity in the video and admonish parents to censor it for their kids. On the other, you use the same 4 letter words of vulgarity in your commentary. You go on to use the Lord’s name in vain. You’re a smart guy. You know it’s funny. Everyone in Canada is all upset about what the Warrior said about them as if all of you sit there waiting for him to say something profound so you can put it on a t-shirt. Why does it matter what he thinks of Canadians? If he said Sweden was the greatest country in the world, I am assuming you would seriously sit there and think about that because it came from his mouth. It should not have been said because there are a lot of nice people from Canada, but before you go off on him, look at yourself. Jimmy Trump obviously did not catch or understand the caveat “in the tactless, vulgar way” Warrior used to differentiate the Sheik’s use of language versus his own.
You may not agree, but since he offered a very clear caveat, he removed himself from the hypocrite label.
There is a stark difference between the way the Sheik used his language out of unrighteous anger (he brought the entire situation on himself) and spite, and in front of children, and how language was used in the quotes above.

But being born again is still the single most important decision a person can ever make — where they will spend eternity. Good works are not good enough. When I originally saw the video I was impressed with the way that Warrior (would Mr. Warrior be more applicable?) handled himself. While the Sheik acted like a lunatic, Warrior never left his podium and only seemed to watch the temper tantrum. After reading this I’m even more impressed. Hopefully this will fade away as the “non event” (To quote Woody Allen) that it is and the Sheik will fade back into the obscurity he’s been dwelling in for the past 10 years.
I have nothing but respect for the Sheik and what he was able to accomplish in the ring and how “larger than life” he became. On the other hand I have no respect for a grown man that behaves like a school yard bully.

I am not going to address the Canadian comment. I know the context it was used in, but Warrior does not need, nor want anyone to speak for him.
The big issue for me was the lesson I have been able to each my kids through this video. I told them about the rejected handshake and the background behind it. Then I let them watch the video.
I teach my kids to almost always walk away from a physical fight, the old sticks and stones cliche really does apply. Here was Sheik, saying what he said in the past coupled with his Tourrette’s-like tirade, going off on Warrior. Warrior never put down his pen and went on to sign the autograph for Dan, or Danny.
One saying I use with my kids is that “violence is the resort of a limited mind.” People can say what they wish about me, they are just words. I am comfortable enough with who I am to not let the opinions of detractors bother me. The only ones I care about their opinions are my kids. Warrior has provided a great example of this lesson for my family.
And as to the language on the video. Only a fool who locks up their kids thinks those words will never be heard. My kdis hear that language all of the time at school and on film. The thing is to teach them not to use them. At 14 years old my goth-dressing daughter has yet to swear.
Thanks for taking the role-model hat so seriously Warrior. This is just one more lesson for Indy and Mattie as well. Like you said, our kids watch all that we do.

I’m just like some of the ppl leaving comments on here am a Canadian. I’ve seen the clip and I believe u… The sheik was very unprofessional at an event like this. I been a wrestling fan for 23 years and it’s funny to see him act like that. I remember you in a wrestling match at the London Gardens in London Ontario vs. The Honky Tonk Man. Back then, u didn’t say anything about us Canadians being faggots…. why now? Remember Warrior… it was on April 1, 1990 in Toronto Ontario CANADA where the torch was past to you by a famous wrestler. For that u should take back that comment about Canadians and instead be saying “thank you Canada” for making me a superstar. I would like u to come visit my city in London Ontario at an event so I can meet you in person and hopefully shake my hand.

Maybe the comment he made about Canadians being faggots was a joke but it is still a strong statement and I would’ve added something to show it was a joke. If he meant it, he should’ve backed it up since a lot of Canadian fans read his commentary.
Some people have made the statement that we shouldn’t care what the Warrior says and that he is entitled to his opinion. Ofcourse he’s entitled to his own opinion but actually, I am a big Warrior fan and DO care what he says because I look forward to reading his entries (why would I look at someone’s commentary if I don’t care what he has to say?) and he insulted a country of people (or made a joke and was misunderstood).
Ofcourse the Warrior’s calling most Canadians a bunch of faggots was not the same thing as what the Iron Sheik did but it seemed hypocritical to me because The Iron Sheik upset a lot of people with the way he acted and did not think about the feelings of the children or those around who witnessed his sad behavior. The Warrior upset people who read his logs on his website. The Warrior has a lot of fans who are kids and what about the Canadian kids who may read this and it’s not even accurate.
At the same time however, I would hate it if Warrior sugarcoated his commentary out of fear of hurting someone’s feelings. He is outspoken and candid and I wouldn’t want that to change.
I would also like to add that I thought it was admirable how Warrior handled the Iron Sheik situation. I think it sent a strong message to the kids in attendance about how to handle situations where someone is picking on you or ranting on you.
I just think it would be cool if Warrior explained why he said the thing about most Canadians. He doesn’t have to apologize or anything but a lot of us have interest in why he said it and would like to know.

I think it’s absolutely hilarious how these old has-beens walk around demanding respect like they are still on top. Funny thing is, Sheik was never on top, unless you count his short run as WWF Champion (which was only a way to transfer the belt from Backlund to Hogan), and a few runs with Volkoff as WWF Tag Team champions.
He’s lucky anybody is there to see his fat old ass, let alone want an autograph. He’s walking around wearing what appears to be an American Flag headband (doesn’t that clash with his old “character”?), and a WWE “Hall of Shame” T-shirt, like that’s any prize to be proud of.

I just can’t seem to get over UK people saying that the UK could whoop the USA’s butt anytime that they wanted. They know we (USA) are their daddy. Nothing against anyone personal though. I’m sure theres some good people there though. I’m not denying that. I’m sure Warrior knows theres “some” good people even in Canada although he’s believes most up there are queers.

A) Isnt it incredible that all of these people who supposedly hate Warrior are checking out his website. Why? You idiots like to upset yourselves that much? I cant stand Celine Dion but I wouldnt spend my time navigating around her websites! You’re all marks for the Warrior.

A) Most people click on links from LEGIT websites curious to see what the latest publicity grabbing stunt is
B) Scottish want protection? That’s why they just voted the Nats in and your obnoxious country is about to be LED by a Scot. The Scots who invented much of the modern world. Canada prides itself in NOT being America. If anyone is begging for the protection of the US it’s the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Irelend. Great Britain has been together for 300 years, yet the English still aren’t over it, and resent the nation within that is a tenth the size, but contributes 10 times more.
C) Bret Hart sold his soul? I don’t think so, he got a DVD that was a proper tribute to his career. Most of Bret’s fans respected his reunion with the WWF/E as it marked a maturity of ‘hey, we don’t have to like one another, but lets allow BYGONES TO BE BYGONES’. I don’t think Vince lost a personal battle at all - The Warrior would never get over in the WWE and he wouldn’t make any money. Make a DVD that vents peoples TRUE feelings about the man? My reference to ‘begging for protection’ of a larger country was in direct reference to your comments about Canada and Scotland, which I think is slightly exaggerated. My reference to the UK and US’s relationship comes from the widely felt belief in the UK that Britain is America’s lapdog. I never referred to the island of Great Britain’s size. I referred to Scotland’s size within the UK. I think you have misunderstood.
Never read the bible? How about forgiveness? Actually, I am not a believer, but respect a lot of what it stands for. If you can’t forgive, you can’t move on with your life. It took Bret Hart about 8 years to do it, but he’s done it.
Kudos for the spelling mistake spot, it was rather late when I typed.
There is a difference between ‘getting out’ and ‘not being welcome back’. Warrior burned his bridges. You can say “oh but the WWE begged him to come back and do a DVD”. Doesn’t mean to say they wanted him back. They have done DVDs on Jake Roberts, Bret Hart and others, but none of them stay for a long term deal - mainly due to the participants preference (Hart) or no desire to keep them around (Roberts, and I would suggest Warrior would fall in this category) due to behavioural issues.
I think we’ll have to agree to disagree.
However, I DO agree with your point about Ric Flair. His match with Carlito at the weekend proved he needs to take an office job or leave.

Warrior showed impeccable professionalism at that incident as is shown by the video. As far as Warrior provoking him, it didn’t appear to me that Warrior provoked anyone. It shows the guy bringing Sheik over and then the rant starts. Warrior, I look forward to meeting you someday when you come to NC. I’m totally disgusted with Vince and his merry yes-men including Hogan and I agree that they are simply jealous that you have moved on with your life after wrestling and are stable with no problems. The hatred that Vince and his buddies harbor will eat them alive and it shows. I will always believe.

That was one of the most hiliarious things I have seen thusfar in 2007. I was literally in tears after this read and corresponding video. Problem is, it does’nt take a genius to see that you would drop the Sheik hands down, possibly crippling the man. Your obvious insights though are always good for a laugh. Sadly now an days come to conclusion based on what everyone one else thinks or says, and not a conclusion based on a analysis of the information and facts available to form their own solid opinion (whether it be right or wrong) on a matter. Also people, nations, worlds, like to solve all of their problems with violence. These two characteristics trickle down from the leadership of this country to lowest forms of American life.

Why the hell would Warrior want to personally address you Mr or Miss MMA? So you train in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jui Jitsu, and? Join the queue with every other idiot who has jumped on the ‘MMA bandwagon’. MMA is such loose terminology and gives any two bit average martial artist an umbrella to put themselves under, and from my experience of Muay Thai, its mainly for people who are just lousy boxers. I should know, i’ve been working the doors for the last four years and have knocked out more than I can remember. Your posts are just angry, negative bullshit. I have been fortunate enough to meet and work with many of my idols or people I looked up to as a child, and most have been a disappointment. I have never met Warrior, however have spoken to him via email on a handful of occasions and he is courteous and intelligent and is certainly every inch the man he portrayed on our TV screens.

Mixed marial artist from Canada, Hello
Having studied jiu jitsu from one of the Gracie clan directly as well as studying Muay Thai from Chai Sirisute and Wing Chun from Steve Lee Swift, I can attest to their effectiveness as combat arts. I am not sure though that your or my martial arts credentials give any degree of increased significance to our coments. I rarely think violence or the threat of violence is an answer to an adult conflict. I understand your upset with Warrior’s comments about your faith and your country; However, let me kindly speak to you in your own language. Read 1st Corinthians 13. It says such things “as love is patient and kind..not rude..Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. ” Some of your name calling and demands seem inconsistent with the declaration of your faith. Is that the kind of witness you want to have? I hope you will “not let the sun go down on your anger” as your anger is certainly more harmful to yourself then it is to the Warrior.

Since the days of Bruno Samartino, Antonino Rocca, Edwardo Carpentie ,Mil Mascaras, the Macho Man ,and the Hulkster himself ,has their been another wrestler with the lightning intensity of you The ULTIMATE WARRIOR . Their are 2 imovable forces in wrestling one the Hulkamaniacs, the other the Warriors. The difference now is that the Hulkamaniacs are a kinetic force still in motion today and the Warriors are the waiting potential force ready to explode once again. Ive been a fan for a long time,and many of us still wait for your return to bring on the light and combat the evil , as a warrior does . About that clip with the Shiek ,it brought me in mind of when the Hulk won the Championship title at the Garden,He did it with muscle and at the signing you did it with decoram and class. It doesnt matter who taught you, if you’re no good, you’re no good regardless of your teacher. I have worked with Dan Severn, Becky Levi and Scott Adkins and all have been respectful and dont have the unusual and desperate need to prove themselves that you do.

I found your site today, Warrior and was all excited to catch up with the goings on of one of my favorite wrestlers of my youth. I’m one of those rare Canadian straight men but my brother is a “faggot” and he and I enjoyed watching wrestling alot when we were kids. I liked the spectacle and athleticism of it and my brother (I found out later) enjoyed watching muscular guys oil up and roll around together. You know what? He’s a well adjusted, non dramatic, physically fit, successful business man who happens to nibble wiener. He ain’t evil, he ain’t less of a person. Although I applaud the way you handled the situation, however I would appreciate you not calling most Canadians faggots. It’s out of character for an intelligent person to generalize an entire country, especially when there are Warrior fans up here who have shown you a lot of love and support, and who have not bought into the “self-destructive” marketing gimmicks. Respect is earned.

Well, im sure pro wrestling business is some sort of a sect and probably any independant bright mind would go nuts in there. Probably they don´t let you think by yourself, and if you do, be sure you’ll get a documentary called “the self destruction of….”
I was quite impressed by the documentary, but it seemed highly manipulated.. at least for me, still, entertaining, hehe anything that comes out of Mr McMahon’s company is highly entertaining.
And well, i have something to say about that whole homosexual (everyone here seems to have a thought about it) thing… ok it is not ..em .. natural, but i dont think it is wrong…microwaves are not natural, cars are not natural… (and I’m positive that the bible didn´t say anything about fast food restaurants or videogames).. and nobody complains huh?… also, you know there are too many human beings in the world right now.
Maybe mother nature has a plan for overpopulation hehehe

no offense, but I think the Iron Sheik could take you in real life… he was a wrestling gold medalist. Plus - he would know how to make you humble (and lord knows you could use that….)

Iron Sheik did a recent radio shoot on the incident with the Warrior this month (June) which can be heard on you tube. Sheik is whack. Most of his interview is nonsensical. He calls Warrior and his own promoter Eric Simms (the guy he slapped) gay. He challenges Warrior to an arm wrestling contest of all the ridiculous things and states if Warrior beats him, Sheik will give him his gold medal. As if the Warrior really wants Sheik’s medal.

I really want to thank you for the positive aggression you have, Warrior. I watched your lecture at Penn, and UConn. There are those who say that public speaking is easy, and unashamedly bashed your presentation. I applaud your efforts, because it IS tough. It is not something that just happens to be perfect the moment you start speaking. I realize that after hearing your viewpoint on many topics, I thought you would like to know the WARRIOR concept
