MySpace?
Hello warriors. Comments have been moderated, nothing edited, all put up for the most part. I will answer some of the questions later.
New Full Blown Commentary — link below.
Loads of people have asked why I don’t have a “MySpace” acct. My answer is that it really came down to a matter of mathematics.
The average cranial capacity is 1400cc or 82.3 cm3. 124 million skulls are buried in at MySpace and, they claim, 320,000 new sign up every day. I did try every single bit of a few “Warrior Minutes” to find how to convert cc and cm3 to square foot. (What are “Warrior Minutes” will be in the next lesson when we cover relativity.) Whatever conversion route you take to turn volume into area, it doesn’t change the fact that you end up with a lot of empty space.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/28/AR2006102800803_pf.html
News Corp paid $580 million in 2005 for MySpace. Rupert Murdoch paid $44 million for a living space in NY; the most ever paid for a piece of real estate in downtown NY. MySpace cost $4.68 per skull. Rupert’s pad cost $5,525 per sq./ft.
A few suppositions.
One, the per/skull price is a little on the high side. Of course, here is the old man who green lighted OJ’s book and scheduled a primetime program to promote it.
Two, the spacious, empty interior of too many individual minds in this country is precisely what Murdoch and his ilk laugh at, mock, and depend on to have the wealth it takes to make this incredulous kind of purchase.
Three, one day this “group mentality” and all its collective empty space, bought so cheaply, is going to cost this country it’s most dire, unparalleled and potentially irreparable expense.
For teenagers today, slaving over your online profile is creativity. Thinking for yourself and self-determination in choice and commitment is not hip. Attention is given no longer than the time it takes the secondhand on a watch to go to the next second. “Ennui sets in,” these great inspirators of our future claim.
They’re offended and surprised internet anonymity breeds creeps with creepy behavior, yet shocked and annoyed anyone who really loves and cares about them invades their privacy to insure they are safe from the creeps with creepy behavior.
The last forty years of experimenting with the forced instillation of self-esteem, without having to earn it, has worked so well, fickle, indecisive, disheveled kids, who quit tying their shoes because they never learned how, have the audacity to tell the rest of us what is “pointless.” What they spend their entitlement trust funds (once called allowance and you had to earn it) on subsidizes an entire market of twenty-something, six-figure salary “analysts” who tell us, just as audaciously, “[These young kids] aren’t loyal.”
One kid, probably smacked around a few times by conservative parents so that he’d at least be disciplined enough to sit down and eat dinner with his family and engage small talk and discuss ideas, doesn’t buy into the MySpace hype. He says he is “going to wait till the craze dies.”
“Over time,” he says, “people are going to get sick of talking to people on the computer. I just think people will want to spend more time with each other — without the wall of technology.”
And what, be left without their 300 friends!? Maybe this kid is right. But to get sick of it they will first have to overcome their sickness of being hooked on it.
Warrior at MySpace? No thanks. My goal is to fill the space between my ears with knowledge, not incoherent gang-jargon and close-up webcam footage of those who could use a good dermatologist to work on their skin.
Then again, what do I know? Hogan pimps his kids over there; and Lex Luger, with a Buddhist monk’s haircut, holds confessionals in his Dad’s piano shop and, then, repents by lifting them up and down.
Hey, what can I tell you, I can only be famous in so many places at one time.

I find myspace to be a junkyard for the insecure. People do not feel good about themselves so they need to put themselves on the internet and show how many friends they have. It gives them a sense of importance that they can’t get from within because they are weak.

Hello Warrior! First off, I want to say it’s really wonderful having you online once again and reading your posts. Keep on being the inspiration and motivation I know you can be! And there’s no need for a MySpace for you-this website is just perfect! Thank you for continuing to inspire and motivate me. I can’t wait for the upcoming Podcasts, too! Take care!

I concur with you ‘dafilthymofo’.

Awsome! I will show this post to my niece and hope she gets the point. Then I hope she shows it to her 300 “friends” before she stops using “myspace”.

Thank You “Eddie”. Another thing. They should rename myspace to myemptyspace because thats what the people that use it are. They are Empty.

I usually don’t get involved in “blogs” or “message-boards” ,and i do understand the uselessness of myspace.com and the stupidity, creeps, and among other things that it DOES breed. (I love what diamante said about WARRIOR’s website and NO need for a WARRIOR myspace)
BUT on the other hand, I am in the United States Navy , which involves a lot of moving , and many times …. for most of us, this day and age, we get sent overseas, the website is a very good platform for finding fellow and former shipmates, and being able to keep in touch with them . Especially when you can’t pick-up the phone and call these people in most cases .
I KNOW that there is an OVERWHELMING amount of bad things that go on and happen because the website exists, BUT there are those of us who are intellegent human beings and use the sight RESPONSIBLY .

As a 23 year old who has been an avid Myspace user for the last year this really puts things in perspective and I no longer will view or use Myspace as I once did….there’s more to life, I see that now
December 19th, 2006 at 6:26 am
Warrior you are really burning bridges you are either on their side or on the terrorists side e.g. During Professor Jim Fetzer’s appearance on The O’Reilly Factor Thursday night, O’Reilly equated the 9/11 Scholars with terrorists and threw his weight behind a move to have them being investigated by the FBI, in a similar vein to a previous case in which his false charges led to the arrest of another professor and charges of supporting terrorism which were later dismissed.
“I’d put the FBI on you and that nutty Barrett and find out what the hell you guys are up to,” salivates O’Reilly, making reference to Sammy Al-Arian, a former professor at USF who was charged and later acquitted of helping to lead a Palestinian terrorist group that carried out suicide bombings against Israel.’

Why is everyone on here againts “myspace”.
dafilthymofo says:
“They should rename myspace to myemptyspace because thats what the people that use it are. They are Empty.”
I’m not a big fan of myspace, but how can you possibly say that everyone who uses myspace is “empty”? Do you actually know every single user on the personal level? Impossible. Sometimes is not good to generalize and most deff not to criticize.

Hahaha how old are you now Warrior? The reason your not on myspace is because you don’t want any negative comments. The only people you allow to post on here are guys you wanna kiss your ass. I think you have some problems with your sexuality considering your still referring to yourself as a character you played 15 years ago. Grow up and move on, you talk about being yourself and not letting people judge you ever post you have on here your making fun of some group of people. I only signed up to tell you what I think; you’re an old man trying to relive your past. Why not keep building your legacy (whatever is left of it) like Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan. Instead of crying about the past and talking shit. Sad to think you and Sting started off at the same time in wrestling and too look at all he has become and how you just kind of disappeared. I know this comment will not make it onto your site because you’re a coward and just want more people to tell you how great you are. You want to respond to anything I have said we I’m on myspace so here you go.
sincerely, an old fan
Kent

I guess he is not a coward because the comment has made it onto the site.

HHMMMMM Kent…….Do you know why Warrior changed his name to Warrior?? That’s all I will ask to keep this place positive. But I can say you have no clue as to why.
NNEEAAAHH, I think Warrior “disappearance” only enhances the mystique of the character. Hulk Hogan…Rick Flair…Sting…., still around, all they have become???? No, it’s about as cool as me heading to the local high school today to hang out as a 30 year old.
Nobody knows Rick Flair or Sting. I can’t say that too people their names and they go….oh yeah…those guys!!. I CAN SAY WARRIOR’S name 10 years into retirement….and people. go “Oh Yeah!!” As for Hulk Hogan, my grade 10 math classed roared in laughter after a classmate (stealing the cassette tape out of my gym bag), and read out the title “No Holds Barred” starring Hulk Hogan, shows you just how uncool and stupid Hogan is viewed outside the ring. That is why he does the candid stuff now….he knows it is the only way to be taken seriously, if even possible in that venue.
Trying to relive his past??, his web site incarnations have been totally devoid of any effort to do so. You wouldn’t realize he was a wrestler on many incarnations if you didn’t know him, and stumbled onto the site.
“Whatever is left of his legacy”?? I dunno, I have wm6 on DVD, and a few video of Warrior matches, and they all work fine!!!

Just be glad they didnt have myspace when you were wrestling. You’d have lost 3/4 of your fan base.
Also, dont you see the irony of you complaining about the computer to communicate while using the computer to comminucate the message?
Some people spend their time looking to get laid on myspace, others have given up getting laid all together and just read your ramblings. What’s the difference?
December 26th, 2006 at 10:55 pm
Pretty pathetic how people diss on trends. Which is exactly what Myspace is.
Let the trendy people do as they wish and pay no mind to them. Rather then actually recognizing them. So what if over half the people have self esteem issues… Maybe the internet is their medium to actually feel slightly “normal” (if there is such a thing). Dissing on them… thinking that you’ll actually effect them… wont get you anywhere and makes you seem like you’re out of the loop (if you even ever were in the loop to begin with).
To knock on MySpace like you just did is pretty pathetic. Because you were a fad once as well. So in a sense… everything you say with regards to things like MySpace can easily be reflected back onto yourself.

I THINK YOU HAVE IT THE OPPOSITE KENT..
I HAPPENED TO STUMBLE ON WARRIORS SITE SOME YEARS AGO, WHEN HE HAD THE COMIC BOOK, WORKOUT TAPES ETC.
I PRETTY MUCH IGNORED ALL THAT
WHAT IMPRESSED THE HELL OUT OF ME WAS NOT ONLY HOW VERBOSE HE TURNED OUT TO BE, BUT HE ACTUALLY HAD A HUGE AMOUNT OF INTELLECT.
BACK IN THE DAY, I ALWAYS LIKED HIS INTERVIEWS WITH MEAN GENE, I WAS A KID AND EVEN THEN , BUT I ALWAYS SAID “MAN! TO REMEMBER THOSE LINES, HE HAS GOT TO BE ONE HELL OF AN ACTOR!”
MAYBE HE WAS, THATS A HUGE PART OF WRESTLING ANYWAY.
BUT ITS BEEN YEARS, AND ALL IM MET WITH NOW IS THE SAME DAMN PERSON OF INTENSITY I REMEMBER AS A KID!
YOU CANT KEEP A LIE UP THAT LONG! IF THE MAN WAS GAY, HE WOULDA CAME OUT THE CLOSET BY NOW!
JOKES ASIDE THOUGH, WARRIOR IS A DIFERENT EGG, HE STANDS OUT. HE ALWAYS DID. THE THING IS WHEN YOU ARE LIKE THAT, YOU ARE EITHER VILIFIED OR YOU ARE EMBRACED. MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, ITS THE FORMER.
HEY, WHEN HE CHANGED HIS NAME TO WARRIOR…I SAID “THIS GUY IS NUTS!”
BUT I MEANT IT IN ADMIRATION WITH JUST A TEENY BIT OF LEVITY.
FOR YEAR NOW, I HAVE CHECKED IN NOW AND AGAIN.
MY EYES ARE ALWAYS HIT WITH A NEW,INTELLECTUAL OPIONION. ITS A LOT TO READ IN MOST CASES, BUT I FIND MYSELF READING THE WHOLE OPINION EVERY TIME
AS A PICKY, YET AVID READER MYSELF, THAT MEANS SOMETHING
TRUST ME, I AM NOT A WRESTLING FAN AS I WAS WHEN I WAS A KID. ESPECIALLY THE CRAP THEY HAVE ON THE TUBE NOW. I THOUGHT THE WARRIOR WAS A COOL GUY YEARS AGO.
NOW…HE IS OLDER, AND A MAN NAMED WARRIOR
TO ME, THIS SITE IS FOR THOSE WHO ARE FANS OF THE MAN…NOT SO MUCH THE WRESTLER. AS WITH ANY MAN, YOU EITHER DIG WHAT HE SAYS OR YOU DONT. I DONT AGREE WITH EVERY SINGLE OPINION, BUT WHAT I FIND INTERESTING IS THAT EVEN THOSE POST I DONT LIKE, ALWAYS HAVE A GOOD DEGREE OF COMMON SENSE TO THEM.
COMMON SENSE IS SOMETHING THAT NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE NO MATTER HOW OLD I GET
THE WARRIOR IS NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT. WHICH IS WHAT I DIG A LOT. IM NOT EITHER, TO ME POLITICAL CORRECTNESS WEAKENS A PERSON. IT KEEPS YOU FROM SAYING WHAT YOU FEEL. PERSONALLY, I HAVE RESPECTED MEN WHO HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY ARE RASCIST. AT LEAST I KNOW WHERE THEY STAND.
THE WARRIOR IS A STRAIGHT SHOOTER. TOUGH, TO THE POINT. WHAT THE WARRIOR SAYS MAY NOT BE THE UNIVERSAL TRUTH ALL THE TIME, IE, WHAT WORKS FOR HIM MAY NOT WORK FOR ME, BUT THE WARRIOR DOES KNOW WHATS BULLSHIT AND WHAT ISNT. HE DOES KNOW RIGHT FROM WRONG AND UNLIKE MOST, HE OPENS HIS MOUTH ABOUT IT.
IN A WORLD BUILT ON LIES..I TRULY DO NOT KNOW HOW FAR HE WILL GO:) BUT IM WILLING TO WATCH AND LEARN
RIC FLAIR AND HULK HOGAN ARE NOT BUILDING THEIR LEGACY. IN FACT, THEY ARE AS HIGH AS THEY CAN BECOME, BECAUSE THEY CHOOSE TO STAY WHERE THEY ARE SAFE. THEY REFUSE TO TAKE THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED..
YOU KNOW, THE ONE BESET BY DETRACTORS AND SUCH:)
BUT THAT ROAD IS FOR THOSE WHO ARE STRONG AND PATIENT, AND IN THE END, THOSE WHO TRAVEL THAT ROAD ARE THE STRONGEST OF ALL.
WHENEVER I DO HAPPEN TO CHECK IN ON WRESTLING, I SEE RIC FLAIR GETTING HIS ASS HANDED TO HIM (NOTHING COULD COMPARE TO A SHOW NOT LONG AGO THAT STOOD OUT BECAUSE MANY OF THE GREATS WERE IN ATTENDANCE AND RIC FLAIR GOT BEAT TO A BLOODY MESS BY TRIPLE H. HIS BUDDY
I MEAN FLAIR GOT BEAT ALL THE WAY TO THE BACK LOT, INTO THE CAR, IT WAS A EMBARRASSING DISPLAY TO ME CUZ MANY OLD SCHOOL WRESTLERS WERE THERE. BUT VINCE IS AN ASSHOLE I GUESS.)
ALSO LETS NOT FORGET HULK HOGAN…IMMORTAL THOUGH HE MAY BE, ALLOWED HIMSELF TO BE BEATEN BY BROCK LESNAR ….BY A BEAR HUG?!?!??! AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED, HULKAMANIA DIED ON THAT DAY KIDS.
I BRING THOSE SITUATIONS TO FORE BECAUSE WHEN YOU CONFINE YOURSELF TO A BOX, THERE WILL BE A TIME WHEN YOU WILL HAVE DONE IT ALL INSIDE OF THAT BOX.
IN THE CASE OF HOGAN AND FLAIR, THEY HAVE WHORED THEMSELVES OUT. TO ME, THEY LOOK PATHETIC. (THOUGH BROOKE HOGAN IS CUTE!)
WARRIOR IS TRAVELING THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED AND HE IS LEARNING ALONG THE WAY, JUST LIKE ALL OF US WHO CHOOSE TO KEEP OUR MINDS AND EYES OPEN.
IF ANYONE READS THIS POST, JUST KNOW, I THANK GOD THE WARRIOR LEFT ON HIS OWN TERMS, IM GLAD HE STOOD UP FOR HIMSELF, I HOPE HE TRULY LIVES BY HIS WORDS. BECAUSE ITS TOUGH WHEN YOU HAVE KIDS!
WHEN SOMEONE COMES WITH A BUNCH OF MONEY
“ALWAYS BELIEVE” ARE NOT THE FIRST WORDS THAT COME TO MIND
SO, MAN TO MAN, FATHER TO FATHER, I WISH THE WARRIOR LUCK AND I WISH HIS FAMILY HEALTH. I PRAY THAT HE STAYS HIS COURSE, I HAVE TRUE RESPECT FOR THE MAN.
REGARDS FROM BROOKLYN

Opinions are important. Those who feel needy or unimportant have myspace. Those who know better have families or friends or both. And again, it’s an opinion.
January 5th, 2007 at 10:23 pm
I think we should send word to Warrior Via- Mail or post on his Blogs, I belive there should be another blog something else for us. Or even Perhaps some sort of Quiz or Trivia Section in which we can all take at our leisure however make each question with a time restraint so people cannot cheat their way up. nd re-sbmit earning a percentage who ever with the highest wins something… or turn it into a points thing a game of sorts and the winner at the end of every month or 6 months or whatever a type of Memior. ought to be sent out… just a suggestion i will be posting this on every blog…LOL.. Ideas responded are welcome

Myspace is a joke and Warrior has written a nice piece explaining why it is not worth his time. And, by some of your responses, he has proved his point. And let me just say this…
I am extremely, extremely proud of Warrior. I am proud to know that my favorite wrestler and leader from when I was young was not a “mirage.” It is satisfying to be able to grow up and realize that I have succeeded ths far in life from hard work and dedication rather than pretending to succeed by what I tell people on my decorated web site page. Myspace is the home of the insecure teenager. It is the classic craving for attention, it is the easy way. It is a simple way to glorify yourself even if you have accomplished nothing in life. THINK when Warrior speaks. Some of you are the ones who ramble, Warrior has meaning in his words for you to THINK about, not necessarily agree with, but THINK about. However, you clearly showed how much “empty skull” you possess by responding with pathetic attempts at slamming Warrior, a man who doesn’t try to sell people with cheap lines and trendy garbage. So, to counter, I would like to say thank you Warrior for leaving the ring when you did and educating people the way you do today. Thanks for showing myself and others that the way you were “then” wasn’t just for show and wasn’t just an act.
An old fan (and current one)

The internet? Is that thing still around?
January 16th, 2007 at 6:36 pm
if warrior and rupert murdoch ever met, it would be a match made in heaven. i really think they would love each other, as there probably are not more eccentric people on the face of the planet. now, only if rupert wakes up one day and says: “I want to venture into professional wrestling.”
